The relevance that has been given to good jobs, in recent times, shows how well society is doing. Although the provision of high-quality jobs is costly for firms and industries, these jobs come with huge benefits for the firm. Just like a good life, the definition of a good job is relative to individuals as a good job consists of multiple facets that individuals value differently. The importance of various dimensions of work varies from one employee to the other. On a broad scale, there are six factors that make a good job, and this article focuses on the six dimensions and how they could bring to our realization the dream job we solely desire.

Good job, pay and benefits

In the ever-busy labor market of today, there are several job seekers who possess the necessary skills needed to excel in certain roles. But do these jobs pay well? Having a good job means being paid above the industry-average salaries, and this will motivate the capacity to deliver better services. The introduction of various benefits such as health insurance, dental and vision insurance, voluntary and supplementary benefits, wellness programs and time off all contribute to making a good job.

Hours of work

The number of hours a worker spends at work is a factor that can be used to determine their efficiency. It is a known fact that the longer the hours spent at work per day, the lower the productivity. A good job presents you a good working hour with which your efficiency can be adequately maximized for a better output by reducing stress, fatigue and various health risks associated with the kind of service being rendered. It also increases your work rate, thereby increasing productivity.

Future prospect

The goal of a dedicated and well-motivated worker is to have their job, future and welfare secured. A good job could provide the employee with the opportunities to grow in values and learning. It also provides a safe avenue to insure their career with various forms of programs in their place of work. These programs include prompt promotion, developmental opportunities, learning new opportunities, health and property insurance, welfare packages and other benefits

Hard work

When employees see the work they do as something they enjoy, they develop more passion and desire for such a job. They render better hard physical work, self-reported exhaustion, stress themselves and work in dangerous conditions to impress and satisfy their employers. In doing these, good job offers should offer various incentives that can motivate them to do put more effort than their colleagues at work.

In every job you pledge your future to, its content and the kind of relevance and influence in your life, environment and your society is a great factor that must be considered. A good job must be a self-reporting one. It must be designed to help other people. A good job must be useful to your immediate environment and your society at large.

Interpersonal relationship

For several reasons, interpersonal relationships are key to self-development in any sector. Most of the incidence of job loss or inability to perform well is as a result of the poor interpersonal relationship between workers, their management and co-workers. A good job provides the avenue for effective communication and keeps the feedback loop open between supervisors and their workers. A good interpersonal relationship makes you relatable with your colleagues, thereby sharing ideas about new innovations and also giving you social awareness. Interpersonal relationship increases your credibility and also promotes their transparency on key issues.
